Rear Door Heat Exchanger (RDHX)

The OEM Rear Door Heat Exchanger (RDHX) is a highly efficient, rack-mounted liquid cooling solution engineered to manage the extreme heat loads generated by today's high-density servers, network switches, and AI/HPC equipment. Installed directly on the rear of standard 19-inch IT racks, the RDHX removes heat at the source, enabling higher rack power densities while reducing overall data center energy consumption.

Specification

The RDHX replaces or mounts behind the standard rear rack door and utilizes a chilled water or facility water loop to absorb heat from the server exhaust air:

Active RDHX (with fans): Integrated EC fans draw hot exhaust air through the heat exchanger coil, ensuring consistent airflow and maximum heat removal regardless of server fan performance.

Passive RDHX (fan-less): Relies entirely on server fans to push exhaust air through the coil, offering ultra-low power consumption and high reliability.

In both configurations, hot air is cooled before re-entering the room, effectively isolating server heat from the data hall.
